Yona Mach

Yona was born in Germany in 1917. He immigrated to Israel from Germany in 1934. Surrealism of the 1930s and Impressionism inspired him. He explored and developed a personal kind of magic realism. Radical political philisophies of the 20th century made the artists look for different kinder worlds. So, surrealism became to be a way to describe dreams and feelings. He died in Jerusalem in 1999.
